Associate Engineer, Civil

Role Overview

Associate Engineer, Civil at KBR. This role is responsible for the study, design, specification and services of transportation systems, bridges, infrastructure, and water and wastewater systems across a range of civil engineering disciplines.

Role Purpose

To evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects. Under direct supervision, the role contributes to cost containment, efficiency, profitability and operational performance through accurate execution of engineering tasks on assignments with conventional features and established precedents.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Analysis

• Study, design, and specify transportation systems including roads, rail, airports, and seaports.
• Design bridges, tunnels, and geotechnical structures.
• Evaluate and select standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for application to projects.
• Apply judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications to standard methods.
• Independently perform engineering evaluations using established approaches.

Infrastructure & Utilities

• Design and specify drainage systems and underground utilities.
• Support the design of water treatment and distribution systems.
• Support the design of wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Contribute to water resources and raw water supply engineering.

Project Support

• With additional experience within one functional area, assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments.
• Perform investigations and surveys on conventional types of plans with relatively few complex features for which precedents exist.

Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
