Role Purpose

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Shop Manager in all operational and commercial aspects of store performance, assumes full management responsibility during the Manager's absence, and drives customer service excellence, sales maximization, and high standards of visual merchandising and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

Store Management

  • Assume all responsibilities of Shop Manager during absence and jointly control and direct store management in presence of Shop Manager.

Customer Service & Sales

  • Ensure customer service and sales take priority over administrative tasks.
  • Exhibit and promote high standards of internal customer care.
  • Maximize all sales opportunities through effective use of promotional and marketing opportunities.

Customer Complaints & Feedback

  • Monitor handling of customer complaints in line with Company policy.
  • Seek regular feedback from customers.

Staff Development & Training

  • Carry out regular and relevant in-store training and audits.
  • Enroll staff on relevant Learning and Development courses.

Visual Merchandising & Store Standards

  • Maintain high standards of visual appearance throughout the store, including all non-retail areas.
  • Maintain window and in-store displays to a high standard in line with merchandising guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate or Bachelor's degree from any stream.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of retail processes and retail industry.
  • Good knowledge of merchandising, stock management, and inventory processes.
  • Result orientation.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communication skills.
  • Proactiveness and flexibility.
