Role Overview
Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (Design Review) at AtkinsRéalis. The role is based on-site and involves planning, implementation, and maintenance of project engineering records, monitoring weekly reports, and performing quality control procedures.

Role Purpose
The Resident Engineer is responsible for all planning aspects of a project, implementing and maintaining comprehensive engineering records, ensuring accuracy of weekly reports, and developing and performing quality control procedures to meet design and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design Review
- Conduct active review of shop drawings for civil construction materials.
- Assess, interpret and present survey reports and other critical data to stakeholders and shareholders.
- Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency.
- Monitor project progress and compliance with design specifications.
Site Supervision & Inspection
- Perform active site inspections for civil construction material quality and integrity.
- Supervise and monitor detailed documentation of all site construction activities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Apply thorough knowledge of UAE Building Code, safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate and maintain knowledge of Permits and NOCs involved in execution of site activities.
Project Management & Scheduling
- Manage multiple construction projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Monitor work schedules and recommend mitigation measures as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Proven track record for managing personnel and material resources.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with management to align activities with desired business outcomes.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
- Practice active listening and maintain verbal and written communication skills.
Reporting & Documentation
- Implement and maintain project engineering records.
- Monitor and expedite weekly reports for accuracy.
- Supervise detailed documentation of all site construction activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction, or industrial buildings.
- Minimum 12–15 years of construction experience in 132kV and 400kV substations and HV/EHV cable laying projects.
- Experienced in ADNOC and TRANSCO projects.
- Experienced as a construction supervision Consultant.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of engineering, technology, building, construction, and design specifications of ADNOC and TRANSCO.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, AutoCAD and other software.
- Exemplary critical thinking, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Dedication to implement new concepts and strategies.
