Role Overview
Assistant Quality Officer at Corniche Hospital, SEHA.
Role Purpose
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality management processes, policy frameworks, and safety culture initiatives across SEHA Corporate and Healthcare regions while ensuring continuous compliance with accreditation and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Management & Process Redesign
- Participate, facilitate and support the development, implementation and monitoring of the policy management process redesign at SEHA Corporate and SEHA Healthcare regions.
- Participate, facilitate and support the establishment of structures necessary for effective implementation of the redesigned process.
- Participate in the SEHA-wide initiative to identify and standardize critical policies.
- Develop and communicate criteria for identifying critical processes.
- Develop a process for ensuring staff awareness about critical processes across the region.
Stakeholder Communication & Engagement
- Participate, facilitate and support the development and implementation of a structured plan to ensure effective and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders at SEHA Corporate and SEHA Healthcare regions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
- Facilitate discussions via work teams to share and leverage best practices.
Accreditation & Compliance
- Work collaboratively with different teams to ensure continuous compliance with accreditation and certification requirements.
- Participate in all activities related to onsite surveys.
- Identify and implement improvement initiatives based on survey findings.
- Ensure that all necessary systems, policies and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
- Introduce new systems, policies and procedures where appropriate.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the section.
Safety Culture & Quality Initiatives
- Participate in, facilitate and support the implementation of the SEHA-wide safety culture framework.
- Communicate framework initiatives and activities effectively with different stakeholders in the region.
- Conduct a region-wide safety culture survey.
- Identify key areas for improvement based on survey results.
- Participate in, facilitate and support the implementation of a regional Quality and Patient Safety educational program in alignment with SEHA corporate.
- Support the CQI team in identifying quality improvement opportunities within the organization.
- Support the CQI team in reporting on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
Team Support & Governance
- Train teams as required.
- Support the CQI team in leading regular committee and taskforce meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to support work needs.
- Attend various meetings in SEHA and its regions and act on or communicate instructions.
- Escalate issues and concerns to CQI team Manager appropriately.
Reporting & Professional Development
- Produce written reports and deliver presentations.
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the efficient delivery of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a medical, clinical, quality or relevant health-related field is required.
- Master's degree in a medical, clinical, quality management or relevant health-related field is desired.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in healthcare, excellence, safety or compliance for a comprehensive tertiary healthcare facility is required.
- Experience in a large healthcare facility is desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical quality, patient safety and good clinical practices is required.
- Progressive administration, management and leadership responsibility is required.
- Proven knowledge and comprehensive understanding of applicable regulations and guidelines governing the management and handling of clinical and pharmaceutical issues is required.
- Evidence of strategic planning and new process and programs implementation through data analysis and cost-effective interactions is required.
