Assistant Operations Supervisor

Role Overview

Assistant Operations Supervisor at Emirates Flight Catering, based on-site at the airline catering facility.

Role Purpose

To support flight catering operations by managing resource allocation, supervising team preparation and dispatch of catering equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and driving continuous operational improvement to optimize costs and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Planning & Allocation

• Prepare resource allocation in collaboration with the operations supervisor based on demand to achieve agreed objectives and optimize resources.

Equipment & Logistics

• Prepare and deliver catering equipment in a timely and effective manner in coordination with various stakeholders.

Team Supervision & Development

• Delegate and supervise team members in the preparation, dispatch, and loading of catering items to ensure the process is optimized, timely, and meets all safety and quality standards.
• Support team members in their training needs to perform their jobs safely and efficiently by providing guidance, resolving performance or operational issues, and promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

• Lead BBSM (Behaviour Based Safety Management) checks observed by team members to minimize food safety hazards and comply with department SOPs and regulations.

Inventory Management

• Facilitate managing inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, tracking usage, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure necessary products and equipment are readily available to meet passenger demand while minimizing waste and optimizing costs.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify areas for improvement and propose plans to address them in order to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall customer experience.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or equivalent qualification (required).
• 3 years of work experience in Flight Operations, Food Packing, or Logistics function, preferably in the Airline Catering Industry and/or Food Industry.
• 2 years exposure in a team leader capacity (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge and understanding of operations, including resource allocation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills to ensure smooth operations within tight deadlines.
