Role Overview
Assistant Manager β Warehouse Operations at Al Tayer Group, Kuwait. One-year fixed-term contract position.

Role Purpose
Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, overseeing the full cycle from product receipt through efficient transportation and distribution to customer and store order fulfillment. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, proper receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, and escalate operational issues to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Optimization
- Manage warehouse efficiency and product tracking, with accountability for route analysis and re-routing recommendations to ensure space optimization and efficient warehouse floor operations.
- Optimize and coordinate the full order cycle through to fulfillment.
- Implement work processes and flows in the warehouse to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are followed across key logistics activities, minimizing cost and overtime.
- Establish and continuously review department workflows and job responsibilities in the warehouse, developing and recommending proposals for improvements to ensure work is organized and carried out in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Manage the disposal of expired and obsolete goods at the warehouse to ensure high quality standards are maintained.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, operation cost and efficiency.
- Ensure timeliness and integrity of all inventory transactions.
- Identify warehouse operation improvement opportunities and recommend options to improve performance.
- Develop and implement processes to optimize customer experience.
Financial Management
- Implement the annual plan for the warehouse and manage the associated budget for areas of responsibility.
- Monitor performance against budget targets and initiate corrective action where necessary to ensure operations are conducted within agreed financial parameters.
Risk & Compliance
- Review operational processes from a risk management perspective, identify and qualify new areas of risk, and escalate concerns to the HSE committee appointed by the company.
- Maintain HSE practices in the working environment to minimize opportunities for property damage and injury to self and colleagues.
- Pro-actively remind colleagues to behave in line with HSE processes defined by the company.
People Management
- Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work.
- Ensure subordinates are continuously developed for higher-level roles.
- Support new recruits to ensure successful completion of their probation.
- Review performance regularly and conduct activities to ensure continual development and productivity of all team members with positive reinforcement.
- Conduct documented performance monitoring, coaching and development, including annual and quarterly performance reviews.
- Regularly communicate to the team on operational performance and brief on upcoming events.
- Support management of employee engagement issues and disciplinary matters to ensure staff follow company processes and values.
- Create a positive work environment that results in low attrition, sickness and absence reduction to ensure collective and individual targets are met.
- Utilize the company's reward structures and employee recognition schemes to encourage and recognize outstanding performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduation or Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain and Logistics.
- 3-5 years of experience in warehousing and distribution with knowledge of retail, perfumes and cosmetics and the local market.
Skills & Competencies
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets.
- Good knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
