Role Overview

Assistant Manager - Defense at KPMG. This role supports the Defense sector practice, delivering advisory and consulting services to government and defense industry clients.

Role Purpose

To provide strategic advisory and operational support to KPMG's Defense sector clients, working with senior consultants and managers to deliver high-quality solutions and drive client value across government and defense industry engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Service Delivery

  • Develop and support defense sector consulting projects from scoping through implementation.
  • Contribute to proposal development and client presentations.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support client recommendations and strategic planning.

Team & Engagement Management

  • Support senior consultants and managers on multiple client engagements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across KPMG practices and departments.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members on assigned projects.

Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Execute analytical work on defense sector challenges including strategy, operations, and transformation.
  • Support quality assurance and review of project deliverables and client outputs.
  • Identify and document lessons learned across engagements.

Business Development

  • Participate in client relationship management and account planning activities.
  • Support pursuit of new business opportunities within the Defense sector.
  • Assist with knowledge management and thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Engineering, Policy, Economics, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, or related advisory role.
  • Experience working with government or defense sector clients preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and business intelligence software.
  • Ability to travel as required for client engagements.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position.
  • Travel required for client site visits and engagements as assigned.
