Role Overview
AR Manager at Maersk. This role sits within Accounting Operations and involves leadership of accounts receivable functions and the team delivering them.
Role Purpose
Oversee day-to-day accounts receivable operations with accuracy and in compliance with regulations, accounting principles and standards. Lead a team of less experienced professionals, frontline workers and administrators, while handling billing, invoicing and receivables management to control funds and measure operating results.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Financial Management
- Oversee day-to-day financial transactions with accuracy and in compliance with regulations, accounting principles and standards.
- Manage accounts receivable functions including billing and invoicing.
- Develop and monitor annual revenue and expense budgets for the purpose of controlling funds and measuring operating results.
- Handle most situations independently, receiving minimal guidance on routine matters.
Team Leadership
- Lead people for whom you have employee lifecycle responsibilities, including hire and fire decisions.
- Coach and mentor direct and indirect reports.
- Coordinate task assignment and workflow across the team.
- Appraise performance and conduct pay reviews.
- Develop team members for future assignments.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
Strategic & Policy Development
- Set direction and develop business and operational areas within your scope.
- Develop policies and practices.
- Implement business plans.
- Bring in-depth knowledge and experience in your functional area to solve common business issues.
Guidance & Support
- Seek advice, guidance and support on complex or non-routine topics.
- Understand the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between your function and others.
Qualifications & Experience
- In-depth knowledge and experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting operations functional area.
- Broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge.
- Process and people leadership capabilities.
