Role Overview

Aircrew Flight Equipment Technician (AFE) Life Support Equipment at Boeing Qatar Incorporated, located at Al Udeid Air Force Base, Qatar.

Role Purpose

To perform maintenance, repair, inspection, and overhaul of aircrew flight equipment and life support systems to ensure proper functionality, serviceability, and compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Maintenance

• Inspect, maintain, and repair aircrew flight equipment, including survival gear, helmets, oxygen masks, harnesses, parachutes, anti-G suits, and communication equipment and other life support systems.
• Conduct thorough inspections of aircrew flight equipment to ensure proper functionality, serviceability, and compliance with technical specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on aircrew flight equipment systems.

Troubleshooting and Repair

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in aircrew flight equipment.
• Perform necessary repairs to restore systems to proper working order.
• Operate systems to verify functionality and diagnose problems.

Overhaul and Installation

• Conduct complete overhauls of components and systems.
• Install new or replacement components and systems associated with aircrew flight equipment.
• Fabricate and modify aircrew flight equipment according to technical specifications.

Technical Execution

• Utilize technical data, rely on technical publications and manuals to guide work.
• Follow established procedures and technical orders to maintain equipment in accordance with safety and maintenance standards.
• May work with specialized support equipment (SE) related to technical discipline.

Training and Development

• Provide training and guidance to aircrew members on the proper use, maintenance, and emergency procedures related to aircrew flight equipment.
• Assign and perform Cross Utilization Training (CUT) as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in Aircrew Flight Equipment Systems.
• Basic education such as High School diploma or GED, typically with 1 or more years' related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (for example vocational school or Associate degree).
• Experience on military fighter platforms (F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15) preferred.
• Military or vocational school related to discipline or equivalent preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex aircraft equipment systems.
• Proficiency with technical publications, manuals, and technical data.
• Ability to fabricate and modify equipment according to technical specifications.
• Ability to train and communicate technical information to aircrew members.

Additional Information

Security and Legal Requirements

• Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance required; position requires U.S. Citizenship for security clearance purposes.
• Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start required.
• Position is export controlled; government authorization may be required; employment contingent upon meeting trade control requirements.
• Candidates must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
• Candidates must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.
• Employment is contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.

Work Schedule and Relocation

• Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime; some positions may have rotating shifts.
• Position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
