Role Overview
Aircraft Painter (F-16) at Amentum, reporting directly to the Program Manager. This role is responsible for all surface preparation, treatment, and painting associated with the fleet of assigned aircraft at this location.

Role Purpose
To perform comprehensive surface preparation, treatment, and painting of aircraft components, panels, and support equipment to maintain the fleet to military standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation and Painting
- Perform surface preparation, treatment, and painting of components, all aircraft surface areas, aircraft panels, support equipment, or other items as required.
- Precisely apply paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other materials using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices.
- Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted.
- Apply vinyl graphics to multiple aircraft surfaces with precision.
Technical Knowledge and Compliance
- Demonstrate working knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques.
- Maintain knowledge of military publications and diagrams.
- Apply FMS-2026 Form 2, Type 1 F-16 Have Glass surface refinishing procedures.
Training and Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor other technicians in all aspects of the F-16 Aircraft Paint technician specialty.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years' proven experience as a paint technician to include painting, maintenance, and finish work.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proven experience with FMS-2026 F-16 Have Glass paint application procedures.
- Working knowledge of USAF military publications and Technical Orders.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with paint application devices including brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- F-16 Block 40 and above surface refinishing (preferred).
- USAF 5 and 7 skill level or civilian equivalent (preferred).
