Role Overview
Accountant-Audit Background at Ontime Healthcare, based in the UAE. This role is suited for an experienced accountant with a strong audit background and hands-on experience in UAE Business Setup operations.
Role Purpose
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, prepare financial statements, support audit activities, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance within a Business Setup and corporate services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Handle invoicing, payment processing, receipts, and expense recording.
- Maintain proper financial records and ensure compliance with accounting procedures.
Reconciliation & Analysis
- Perform bank, customer, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile client accounts and ensure proper allocation of payments and service charges.
- Monitor receivables and payables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Review financial transactions and identify discrepancies or control issues.
Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure all financial documents are properly maintained and available for audit purposes.
Audit Support
- Support internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules, working papers, and required documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit queries.
- Experience dealing with auditors and preparing audit documentation.
Business Setup & Tax Compliance
- Work closely with the Business Setup team to ensure accurate recording of company formation, licensing, government service, and related transactions.
- Review revenue and expenses related to Business Setup services.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to Business Setup operations.
- Support VAT and Corporate Tax-related accounting and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior accounting role.
- Previous audit experience is required.
- Experience in Business Setup, company formation, corporate services, or government services is highly preferred.
- Experience in a Business Setup or Corporate Services company preferred.
- Previous experience in an audit firm preferred.
- ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- CPA certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of company formation and government-related service transactions is an advantage.
