Role Overview

Able Bodied Seaman (ABLEMAN) with NMDC Group.

Role Purpose

Perform watchkeeping duties and maintain vessel systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure safe maritime operations and vessel seaworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

Watchkeeping

• Perform sea, port and anchor watches in steering and lookout roles.

Maintenance & Operations

• Maintain accommodation watertight doors and fans.
• Maintain mooring, anchors and lifeboat winches.
• Maintain mooring and lifeboat ropes and wires.
• Maintain lifeboats.
• Maintain superstructure.
• Maintain decks.
• Maintain aft deck area.
• Perform washing and cleaning of superstructure decks.
• Perform greasing of ballast valves.
• Maintain ship access and gangway controls.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate in performing Navigational watch keeping (II/4) from approved nautical institute.
• Minimum 2 years experience as able bodied seaman on board anchor handling tugs on offshore oilfields.
• Good understanding of safe practices related to anchor handling and towing operations.
• Good English communication skills.
