3RD OFFICER

Role Overview

Third Officer position with NMDC Group. This is a maritime navigational role based at sea, responsible for watch-keeping, voyage planning, and equipment management aboard vessel operations.

Role Purpose

Maintain safe and compliant vessel navigation through active watch-keeping, voyage planning, chart management, and continuous oversight of navigational and safety equipment in accordance with IMO and Flag State requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Watch-Keeping

• Perform sea, port and anchor watches as per Master instructions.

Voyage Planning & Navigation

• Conduct voyage planning for assigned routes and passages.
• Correct and order charts, nautical publications and other publications in accordance with IMO and Flag State requirements.
• Maintain Log Book records.

Equipment Management & Supervision

• Supervise and check navigational equipment, lights and day marks.
• Monitor the performance of navigational equipment and safety equipment.
• Monitor equipment expiry dates and ensure timely renewal or replacement.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma.
• Officer of Watch Unlimited Certificate II/2.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a navigational watch keeping officer.

Skills & Competencies

• Good English communication skills.
• Good knowledge of safe practices related to anchor handling and towing operations.
