2ND W/K ENGINEER

Role Overview

2nd Engineer position with NMDC Group PJSC. The role is onboard a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger, crucial for dredging and reclamation projects.

Role Purpose

Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the dredger's engine and mechanical systems. Provide technical expertise instrumental to achieving project goals and maintaining vessel performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily operations and maintenance of the dredger's engine and mechanical systems.
• Monitor and optimize engine performance, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks as per the vessel's maintenance schedule.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all engineering activities.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in dredging engineering.

Technical Problem-Solving

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions.

Leadership & Support

• Supervise and guide the engineering team, providing technical support and training as needed.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Commit to safety and maintain a proactive approach to maintenance.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate dredging operations and ensure seamless project execution.
• Represent NMDC Group PJSC professionally and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer or similar role in the dredging industry.
• Valid Chief Engineer's license or equivalent certification.
• In-depth knowledge of marine diesel engines and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with dredging equipment and processes is preferred.
