Role Overview

Plant Operator (Field), Sulfur Recovery Section at PetroRabigh. This is a field-based operational role responsible for managing assigned plant facilities and equipment.

Role Purpose

To ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned plants and facilities in the Sulfur Recovery Section by performing startup and shutdown procedures, conducting inspections, responding to emergencies, collecting samples, and maintaining detailed operational records.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Plant Management

• Perform or assist in the start-up and shutdown of assigned plants and facilities in accordance with approved operating procedures and instructions.
• Conduct regular inspections and walk-throughs of plant facilities to ensure they are functioning efficiently.
• Collect samples and perform required chemical and physical process tests as instructed by the Console Operator.
• Maintain records of field instrument readings and local measurements in logs, and update checklists as required.

Emergency Response & Safety

• Respond to emergency or upset conditions by taking the necessary field actions, such as flaring, blowdown, isolation, diversion, and switching, while maintaining close communication with the Console Operator and/or Shift Supervisor.

Maintenance & Housekeeping

• Identify malfunctions or abnormal operating conditions and report them to the Shift Supervisor or Console Operator.
• Perform plant housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Stakeholder Management & Coordination

• Support or assist the Shift Supervisor, as required, in communications with other sections, contractors, vendors, maintenance personnel, inspection teams, or chemical suppliers.
• Issue work permits in accordance with the approved authorization level assigned by the Section Head.

Knowledge Transfer & Development

• Provide technical guidance to other Field Operators and share operational best practices, lessons learned, and experiences, when requested, to promote efficient and effective operations.

General

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma with minimum 5 years of work experience, or Diploma qualification with minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanism and field operations in refinery or petrochemical equipment.
• Basic understanding of instruments and emergency shutdown systems.
• Clear understanding of refinery or petrochemical plant layout and operating processes relevant to the assigned section.
