MWR Fitness Specialist

Role Overview

Fitness Specialist position with Intrepid Global Solutions. The role provides fitness instruction and facility management for military welfare and recreation (MWR) operations.

Role Purpose

To deliver qualified fitness instruction across multiple disciplines, manage MWR facility operations and events, and provide excellent customer service and safety oversight to all facility patrons.

Key Responsibilities

Fitness Instruction & Programming

• Teach aerobics classes including step-aerobics, weight and strength training, cardiovascular and circuit training.
• Host fitness classes and instruct members in strength training principles, training procedures, and exercise techniques.
• Ensure safe and effective use of training equipment.
• Maintain training equipment hygiene and safety.

Event Management

• Assist in event management inclusive of officiating recreation sporting events, fitness events, reporting participation, announcing rules of engagement, and setup and teardown of events.
• Assist in creation of fitness calendars and marketing flyers ensuring 120-day calendar planned with fitness events.

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Assist in maintaining outside facilities inclusive of ball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and other exterior facilities.
• Assist in maintaining inside facilities inclusive of trash removal, equipment checks, and overall cleanliness.

Reporting & Documentation

• Perform headcounts and complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.

Customer Service & Conflict Resolution

• Provide excellent customer service in a friendly manner to all patrons of facility.
• Manage customer concerns and complaints providing conflict resolution and timely action on all concerns.

Additional Duties

• Perform other mission required duties inclusive of assisting in Lodging or MWR and Recreational areas as required by Site Manager.
• Perform other related duties needed or required to support the mission.
• Additional duties as assigned by Site Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or GED.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of fitness training and exercises.
• Preference for candidates to maintain Personal Trainer and Class Instructor certificates by a certifying organization.
• Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Ability to create, modify, and utilize spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.

Additional Information

Certifications & Security

• Must possess an American Red Cross CPR Certificate.
• Must possess an American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate or local equivalent certifications as approved by the ACO.
• Must possess an Automated External Defibrillator Certification.
• Must have and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.

Driver & Travel

• Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to operate a vehicle with manual transmission.
• Valid U.S. Passport preferred.

Deployment & Location Requirements

• Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD SEVENTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for the U.A.E.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Fitness operations occur 24 hours a day; candidate must be able to work shift as assigned inclusive of dayshift or nightshift.
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather, and hazardous conditions.
