Role Purpose
This senior technical position exists to maintain the mechanical integrity of rotating equipment through high-precision workmanship, comprehensive repairs, and strict adherence to safety standards. The Workshop Mechanic oversees the full lifecycle of industrial and rotating equipment—from inspection and disassembly through final alignment and reassembly—while mentoring other department employees.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Execution & Overhaul
- Document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace, disassemble, reassemble, move, and inspect rotating equipment across a wide variety of industrial machinery.
- Alter and overhaul rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears, couplings, and all other components necessary to complete repairs.
- Set up all equipment, tooling, and specifications required to perform the primary functions of each job.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and accuracy in using micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools.
- Accurately measure and record all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors, and associated machinery.
Quality, Safety & Documentation
- Read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, work scopes, and verbal instructions.
- Understand and process documentation including inspection reports, photo logs, and hold tags.
- Maintain proficiency to successfully pass the annual dimensional inspection test.
- Promote safety and quality at all times, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Operations & Leadership
- Apply advanced knowledge of lifting, rigging, crane, and forklift operations.
- Work effectively in a team environment and help train other hourly employees in repair processes and procedures.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times when working with internal and external customers.
- Accept ownership over work performance, stay abreast of job knowledge, and pursue new skill development.
- Plan and oversee complex repairs with limited supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- 5–8 years of experience specifically with rotating turbomachinery, including turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.

Additional Information
This is a full-time, on-site permanent position based at the Repair Facility in KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi.
