Role Overview

Warehouse Operations Supervisor at Alghanim Industries.

Role Purpose

To manage inbound and outbound warehouse operations on shift, ensuring all inventory is accurately captured, items are inspected for quality and compliance, staff are deployed effectively, and operational targets and KPIs are met while maintaining health and safety standards and controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities

Shift & Operations Management

• Manage inbound and outbound operations during assigned shift.
• Ensure inbound inventory is captured on the system prior to offloading items in the warehouse.
• Ensure every SKU offloaded has scannable barcodes.
• Recheck that offloaded items are placed on the correct pallet type.
• Ensure containers are offloaded according to daily target.
• Plan resource allocation for offloading and putaway activities.
• Assign team members to containers according to manpower capacity.
• Ensure lag time does not exceed 24 hours unless approved by management.
• Ensure no hanging Outbulk remains on system unless approved by management.

Quality & Compliance

• Carry out full inspection audits for packaging and labeling quality of offloaded items.
• Report any discrepancies received on containers offloaded, including damages, shortages, or excess items.

Planning & Resource Management

• Maintain and organize daily shift rota of personnel.
• Plan personnel leave and compensatory time; submit for manager approval.
• Ensure pending putaway on floor is prioritized in binning.
• Coordinate and monitor materials required for offloading such as pallets and shrink wraps.
• Closely coordinate with Fleet Supervisor on container status to prevent offloading delays.

Performance & KPI Management

• Check and support management in achieving daily targets set by business unit.
• Provide reports set by management for daily review of warehouse activities.
• Recommend improvements to management to meet standard KPI targets.

Staff Development & Leadership

• Ensure all personnel under supervision have proper SAP training.
• Recommend personnel for promotion and training opportunities.
• Lead by example on health and safety behavior, enforcing good practice amongst team leaders and operations staff.
• Manage a large multicultural workforce with high cultural sensitivity.
• Motivate staff and foster teamwork.

Cost Management & Communication

• Support management in reduction of operational costs against agreed forecasts and budgets.
• Closely coordinate with manager on floor situation including pending putaway and offloading backlog.
• Provide feedback for inbound improvements.
• Participate in internal and external reviews as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience managing inbound warehouse activities.
• Thorough understanding of KPI reporting and control procedures.

Skills & Competencies

Technical

• User knowledge of warehouse management systems and material handling equipment capabilities.
• Highly proficient with PC and MS Office applications.
