Ward Attender

Role Overview

Ward Attender at NMC Healthcare. The position supports nursing staff in delivering patient care and maintaining ward operations under direct supervision.

Role Purpose

To assist the nursing team in providing direct patient care, maintaining a clean and organized ward environment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Support

• Assist in patient care and other ward related duties as directed by and under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Respond quickly to patient requests for assistance.
• Assist with patient hygiene, elimination, and mobility needs.
• Assist with patient physical comfort, eating and drinking needs.
• Observe and report any specific changes to the staff nurse.
• Obtain patient height and weight measurements.

Ward Maintenance

• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness in all areas including patient rooms within the unit.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and storage areas.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing and cleaning patient rooms for admission and discharge.

Patient Transport and Logistics

• Transport specimens to the laboratory.
• Escort patients to and from the Radiology Department as directed by the nurse on duty.
• Act as a messenger as required.

Professional Development

• Participate in any scheduled educational activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school graduate.

Skills & Competencies

• Intermediate English skills preferred.
• Spoken Arabic advantageous.
• Motivation to work in a healthcare environment.
