Role Overview

Waiter/Waitress at Accor. This is an entry-level service role in the Food & Beverage Division of a luxury hotel property.

Role Purpose

To deliver courteous, professional, efficient and flexible food and beverage service to guests at all times, following Rixos Standards of Performance and Standard Operational Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Provide courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times.
• Deliver high standard of quality and efficient, friendly service as per Standard Operational Procedures.
• Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Establish and maintain good customer relationships and rapport with guests.
• Report guest complaints or problems to supervisors when no immediate solution can be found and assure follow-up with guests.

Food & Beverage Knowledge & Operations

• Maintain thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu.
• Recommend food and beverage combinations and upsell alternatives.
• Monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Assist in carrying out monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly and yearly inventory of operating equipment.

Workplace Maintenance & Standards

• Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
• Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to hotel and department appearance standards.
• Perform opening and closing procedures established for the place of work as assigned.

Flexibility & Additional Duties

• Be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub-departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other department of the hotel as assigned.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager and supervisor.
• Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
• Extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments and areas if required to meet business demands and guest service needs.

Compliance & Professional Development

• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
• Read and understand the hotel's Employee Handbook and adhere to the hotel's rules, regulations, and policies relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
• Comply with local legislation as required.
• Attend training and meetings as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality.
• Fresher or 1 year of experience in a 4–5 star hotel.
