Verification and Validation Engineer

Role Overview

Verification and Validation Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Contribute to system verification and validation of a large security system during and after deployment, including the customer acceptance process. Report to the Chief Engineer and Head of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Verification and Validation

• Perform verification and validation activities at system level for system and customer releases.
• Conduct dedicated test campaigns including load, stress, and performance tests.
• Play an active role in verification within development teams.
• Drive the verification and release of software releases or features.
• Track bugs and perform retesting of fixed issues, interacting closely with the development team.

Test Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare test documentation including test procedures, problem reports, and test reports during test campaigns.
• Conduct reviews for test documentation.
• Perform problem reporting, including collection of material to support root-cause analysis.

Customer and Stakeholder Support

• Support test campaigns for customer acceptance events.
• Work in a customer-oriented environment.

Team and Knowledge Management

• Work within a team of V&V Engineers.
• Act as a team player and team lead.
• Act in a self-sustained manner.
• Help other V&V Engineers extend domain knowledge.

Tools and Methods

• Use different tools and methods for V&V tasks including DOORS, Jira, and Quality Center.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in verification and validation of systems.
• Familiarity with INCOSE and international system engineering standards, or holding an ISTQB Certification.
• Experience in writing test procedures and test reports.
• Experience in detailed planning of work and deliverables.
• Experience working in a team of V&V Engineers.
• Experience with direct interface to the customer (desirable).
• Strong engineering background working on large integration projects (desirable).
• Experience working with a broad range of information technology systems such as networking, storage, server, virtualization, system and network administration (desirable).
• Detailed experience in relevant Information Technology and communication solutions (desirable).
• PMP or ISTQB certification (desirable).
• Driving license (desirable).

Additional Information

• Contract Type: Fixed term.
• Location: Based in Riyadh with frequent travel to locations in Saudi Arabia required.
• Occasional international travel expected.
