Vehicle Inspector

Role Overview

Vehicle Inspector at Bayut | dubizzle, based in the UAE. You will conduct detailed inspections on cars of all body types for the dubizzle Cars team, preparing comprehensive reports on mechanical, electrical, paint, underbody condition, and onboard diagnostics.

Role Purpose

To inspect automotive vehicles comprehensively, qualify their condition against mechanical, electrical, and safety standards, and prepare detailed reports with supporting documentation that enable vehicles to enter the organisation's ecosystem with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Assessment

• Inspect automotive vehicles to ensure compliance with emission standards and governmental regulations.
• Inspect vehicles to derive conclusions about the functionality and performance of the engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, interior, electricals, air-conditioners, tyres and ECU/Sensors.
• Inspect vehicles to derive conclusions about paint synergy and any accidental or wear-and-tear damage.
• Inspect vehicles to derive conclusions about any missing, dysfunctional or illegal part or equipment.
• Check preventive maintenance programs.
• Conduct VIN Investigation for previous records in the inspection directory.

Investigation & Compliance

• Investigate complaints, accidents, auction history and total loss claims.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare reports for cars that have been inspected by you.
• Review reports through the list of post-inspection checkpoints to conclude report preparation.
• Take professional photographs of the car being inspected.
• Take pictures of errors and findings while conducting the inspection.
• Suggest improvements to vehicles that fail inspection when required.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with the Team Leader in case of critical findings of the investigation or confusion to get a go-ahead.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School or Mechanical Diploma.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• 5 or more years of experience as a vehicle inspector.
• Mechanical and Electrical work experience in automotive.
• Automotive Certification (Good to have).
