Utility Draftsman - Infrastructure

Role Overview

Utility Draftsman – Infrastructure at Al Shirawi Group, responsible for preparing detailed drawings, layouts, and documentation for infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, utilities, and site development.

Role Purpose

Translate engineers' and designers' concepts into technical drawings and ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications for infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Preparation

• Prepare accurate and detailed drawings for infrastructure projects including roads, stormwater, sewerage, and water supply using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Prepare cross-sections, profiles, utility layouts, and as-built drawings as required.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawing packages to support project milestones.

Design Coordination

• Collaborate with engineers to interpret design concepts and incorporate technical details into construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines including architecture, structural, and MEP to ensure seamless integration of designs.

Standards & Compliance

• Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with relevant codes, guidelines, and project requirements.
• Update and revise drawings based on design changes, client comments, or site conditions.

Documentation & Control

• Organize and maintain a structured drawing archive and ensure proper document control.

Cost & Estimating Support

• Conduct basic quantity take-offs and assist in preparing BOQs where needed.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
