Role Overview

UI/UX & Visual Designer at Sunreef Yachts. The role is based at the company's location and involves leading visual and user experience design for premium software interfaces while crafting custom visual assets aligned with luxury brand standards.

Role Purpose

Design clean, modern, and highly intuitive user interfaces across multiple platforms while creating a cohesive premium visual identity that reflects innovation, sophistication, and modern yacht experiences. Balance aesthetic luxury with practical real-world usability in marine environments.

Key Responsibilities

UI/UX Design

• Design intuitive user interfaces for mobile applications (iOS & Android), desktop-based control applications for large touchscreen displays, and embedded touchscreen interfaces on smaller screens.
• Ensure consistent and responsive design across devices, resolutions, and touch environments.
• Design for practical real-world usage including outdoor readability, touchscreen usability, and operation in marine environments.
• Incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve usability and appeal.

Branding and Visual Identity

• Create and evolve a premium visual identity that reflects innovation, sophistication, and modern yacht experiences.
• Design company logos, sub-brand logos if needed, and define color palettes, typography, and visual tone.
• Bring a sense of modern luxury and forward-thinking design to all interfaces and visuals.
• Ensure the UI communicates innovation and exclusivity that matches high-end product standards.

Icon and Asset Design

• Design high-quality, original icons and button graphics for use across applications.
• Create a scalable and cohesive icon set that visually communicates system functionality.

Prototyping and Wireframing

• Develop user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design intent.
• Create interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.

Design System Development

• Build and maintain a component-based design system with reusable elements to ensure design consistency and faster iteration across platforms.

Developer Collaboration

• Work closely with software engineers and embedded developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Provide production-ready assets and clear interaction specifications for all UI elements.
• Explain design rationale and receive feedback from technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

UI/UX Design

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, wireframing, prototyping, and responsive design.
• Ability to create intuitive and elegant UI layouts across platforms (mobile, desktop, embedded touchscreen).
• Experience designing for touchscreen environments and large-format control displays.
• Knowledge of design systems, atomic design, and scalable UI components.
• Deep attention to interaction design, animations, and microinteractions that enhance luxury feel.
• Good understanding of accessibility, readability, and usability in high-contrast or outdoor environments.

Graphic and Visual Design

• Strong sense of visual aesthetics, layout, spacing, and color theory.
• Experience creating custom icons, logos, and high-quality graphical assets optimized for digital interfaces.
• Ability to create a consistent and luxurious visual identity and branding system.
• Familiarity with designing visuals for high-resolution retina and 4K displays.

Design Tools

• Figma for interface design, prototyping, collaboration, and design system management.
• Adobe Illustrator for vector graphics, icon design, and logo creation.
• Adobe Photoshop for image editing, texture work, and visual polish.
• Adobe XD for UI/UX workflows and prototyping (optional, depending on preference).
• After Effects, Principle, or Lottie for UI motion and animation prototyping (optional).
• Zeplin or Figma Dev Mode for developer handoff and asset management (optional).

Collaboration and Communication

• Ability to work closely with software and embedded developers to ensure accurate implementation.
• Strong communication skills to explain design rationale and receive feedback from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to iterate based on usability testing and real-world usage feedback.
