Role Overview

Classroom Assistant, Muna British Academy (Saadiyat Island), Aldar Education, Abu Dhabi. Position to commence September 2026. This role is part of Aldar Education's UAE Nationals Recruitment Event and is open to UAE Nationals only.

Role Purpose

Support teaching and learning across the school to enable pupils to fully participate in classroom and wider school activities, fostering their social, emotional, physical and academic development.

Key Responsibilities

Pupil Support & Well-Being

• Provide support for individual pupils and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in a range of activities during the school day.
• Support the social, emotional and physical well-being of pupils.
• Support pupils with additional support needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Help develop pupils' social skills.
• Participate in the development of behaviour policy and promote pupils' self-esteem.
• Discipline misbehaviour in line with the whole school policy.

Academic Support

• Deliver academic assistance to pupils.
• Give group instruction as prescribed by the teacher, or provide individual instruction.
• Demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Monitor work assigned by the teacher, checking and correcting pupils' work while in progress.
• Keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce pupils' achievements and report pupil progress to the teacher.

Health & Safety

• Be pro-active in matters relating to health and safety.
• Supervise pupils in the classrooms and other locations.
• Support the aims of the school and comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation and school policies.

Pupil Records & Administrative Support

• Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Check attendance.
• Assist class teachers with photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching.

Classroom Environment

• Prepare and present displays of pupils' work.
• Reorganise materials at the end of the day.

Individual Education Programmes

• Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils and groups of pupils.
• Help monitor pupil progress.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum secondary school certificate or Bachelor's degree (required for UAE Nationals).
• At least two years' experience in a school setting.
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
