Role Purpose

The Treasury & Banking Accountant maintains the accuracy of all bank accounts daily and ensures every Letter of Credit and cheque is tracked until funds reach company accounts. This role is responsible for daily bank statement uploads and reconciliation in Zoho Books, management of the LC and cheque cycle with banks, and serving as the primary point of contact for all banking transactions across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Bank Statements & Daily Reconciliation

• Upload all bank statements to Zoho Books every day for every company bank account.
• Reconcile all bank accounts daily and clear unmatched items within 48 hours.
• Investigate unidentified receipts, bank charges, and differences, posting or requesting correct entries.
• Prepare the daily cash position by bank for the Finance team.

Letters of Credit

• Follow up on all new LCs from receipt until proceeds are deposited in company accounts.
• Check LC terms and ensure required documents including invoice, delivery note, and certificate of origin match before submission.
• Submit documents to banks, follow up on bank review, and resolve any discrepancies before LC expiration.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Accounts Receivable on LC status and expected collection dates.

Cheque Management

• Deposit customer cheques at banks and track them until cleared.
• Handle returned cheques by recording the reversal, informing Accounts Receivable and Sales, and following up.
• Maintain a cheque register with status for every cheque received and deposited.

Tracking & Banking Support

• Maintain one up-to-date tracker of all open LCs, cheques, and pending bank transactions, with status and expected dates.
• Support all teams and the company with banking requests including transfers, bank letters, guarantees, account queries, and bank portal access.
• Act as day-to-day contact with bank relationship managers.
• Support month-end close and audit requests with bank reconciliations and confirmations.

Qualifications & Experience

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking operations, or bank reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience reconciling bank accounts daily.
• Practical experience handling Letters of Credit, including documents, bank submission, and discrepancies.
• Experience depositing and tracking cheques, including returned cheques.
• Experience working with an ERP or accounting system.
• Fluent Arabic and good English.

Preferred

• Experience with Zoho Books.
• Experience with Saudi bank online portals such as SNB, Al Rajhi Bank, or Riyad Bank.
• Basic knowledge of UCP 600 rules for LCs.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
