Role Overview
Trainee ROV Technician – EMEA with Oceaneering. This role is based at offshore work locations.

Role Purpose
To pilot the ROV system as directed by the ROV Supervisor and carry out survey, inspection, or work tasks for the client at offshore work locations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Operations
- Perform planned maintenance and repair tasks on ROV units and ancillary equipment as required by regulations, Company and Client procedures.
- Conduct pre/post dive checks on ROV systems and equipment.
- Assist in deployment and recovery of ROV with adherence to Company's Quality Assurance, Safety and operational procedures.
- Ensure that assigned equipment is operational prior to dive operations.
- Follow all relevant procedures and ensure correct methods are employed to gather data.
Dive Support and Assistance
- Ensure understanding of the pre-dive briefing.
- Familiarize yourself with all relevant task or inspection procedures prior to diving.
- Assist the Pilot of the vehicle in observation of video, monitoring of survey equipment and operation of vehicle tooling systems.
- Conduct a high quality, informative commentary of ROV operations onto video tape for presentation to Client.
Data Quality and Client Requirements
- Maintain familiarity with Client data recording/reporting requirements and specifications for the operational activities being conducted in order to enhance quality of data capture.
- Report all relevant data as required.
Safety, Quality and Environmental Compliance
- Ensure application of safety at work regulations.
- Perform assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the quality, safety and environmental management systems of the Company.
- Identify and report safety incidents.
- Recognize and correct unsafe behaviour.
- Recognize and correct unsafe conditions.
- Report all injuries, minor or serious.
- If in doubt, stop the job.
- Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of a recognised Trade Apprenticeship or college education in at least one of the following areas: Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Hydraulic.
- Experience of working with electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical/hydraulic systems and equipment.
