Role Overview
Trainee Pharmacist at NMC Healthcare. The role supports pharmacists in medication dispensing, prescription preparation, and pharmacy operations.
Role Purpose
Assist the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications, typing labels, and performing related duties while maintaining compliance with departmental policies, MOH regulations, and insurance contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription & Medication Preparation
- Prepare prescriptions for dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
- Verify prescriptions, approvals, and patient information are correct and ready before reaching the pharmacist.
- Count, measure, and weigh medicines.
- Fill bottles' labels under pharmacist supervision and according to agreed procedures.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain the computerized system to monitor and update stock levels in the assigned area.
- Report to the pharmacist daily regarding medicine shortages.
- Monitor items nearing expiry or expired to ensure disposal according to policy.
- Maintain the storage of medicines according to category.
- Maintain all kinds of pharmacy records.
Compliance & Quality
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
- Ensure pharmacy staff compliance with departmental standards.
- Follow MOH rules and regulations.
- Ensure contractual regulations with insurance companies and other organizations are practiced.
- Respect patient confidentiality rights.
- Understand and work according to corporate policies and procedures.
Patient Care & Safety
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical or health care errors.
- Exemplify the company's vision, mission, and values.
- Personally accept responsibility for client service.
- Help ensure customer requirements or expectations are met through effective use of communication and feedback channels in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Effectively handle or appropriately respond to stressful situations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.
