TPE V/ Principal Pipeline Engineer

Role Overview

Wood PLC is recruiting a TPE V/Principal Pipeline Engineer to join a project in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

To deliver expert pipeline engineering design, analysis, and technical deliverables on major Oil & Gas projects, applying advanced technical knowledge and leading the discipline across layout, stress analysis, and system specifications while ensuring compliance with cost and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Delivery

• Establish detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill requirements of assigned general specifications for components, systems, and processes.
• Create and review designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables involving both existing and new technology and applications.
• Develop a range of engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, technical requisitions, and others.
• Perform all conventional aspects of design engineering and analysis, acting as document originator.
• Demonstrate application of theory in practical context.
• Execute most standard and straightforward engineering activities, working unsupervised on most aspects of work.

Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving

• Provide discipline expertise to the business as an expert in layout and material.
• Conduct problem solving in the area of expertise; problems involve new concepts and new and varied issues that demand technical expertise, investigation, and interpretation.
• Exercise professional judgement in selecting and interpreting information and modifying standard methods and procedures.
• Develop solutions to non-recurring problems by appraising, interpreting, and evaluating various precedents and data.
• Identify alternative solutions, risks, and benefits.
• Interpret specifications and investigate difficulties.

Analysis & Evaluation

• Demonstrate stress analysis knowledge.
• Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks.
• Review vendor documents.
• Conduct active participation in design reviews.

Software & Tools

• Demonstrate proficiency with relevant software and calculation templates.
• Deliver expertise in major projects completed in S3D/E3D environment.
• Possess ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to their discipline of engineering.

Planning, Coordination & Reporting

• Plan and carry out successive steps and handle problems with general guidance from instructions, policies, and precedents.
• Coordinate own work schedule and prepare progress reports.
• Meet discipline cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables.
• Recommend changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary.
• Deliver small-scale projects in consultancy business areas with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risk, while working within an established program management plan.

Stakeholder & Proposal Support

• Provide technical input and support to proposals as required.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Demonstrate positive attitude, collaborative and issue-resolving skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in executing Oil & Gas projects.
