Role Overview
TPE V / Mineral Processing & Tailings SME at Wood PLC, based in Saudi Arabia. You will serve as the Technical Authority across a portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose
Provide technical authority for mineral processing plants for key minerals involved in the Energy Transition, including Lithium, Bromine, Magnesium, Graphite, Rare Earths, and base metals such as Copper and Gold.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Authority & Leadership
- Act as the focal point and Technical Authority across multiple minerals processing projects.
- Lead technical reviews during Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
- Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
- Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
Technical Expertise & Knowledge
- Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of process plant development, design and operation in the minerals and metals industry.
- Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of hydrometallurgical processing of commodities, including gold, base metals, uranium, rare earth elements, and battery grade metals.
- Maintain extensive technical knowledge of process design and engineering of hydrometallurgical unit operations, such as leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, ion exchange, and electrowinning.
- Develop and maintain understanding of comminution, flotation, beneficiation, plant optimization and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain understanding of GISTM, dam safety, water balance and closure planning as part of tailings and waste management.
Stakeholder Management & Development
- Communicate process requirements to other members of the study, project or proposal team.
- Support proposals, client workshops and business development.
- Mentor young engineers and develop technical capability.
Standards & Best Practice
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of mining industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering discipline: Process, Chemical or Minerals.
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in Mining and Minerals with Energy Transition Metals and/or base metals or Industrial projects.
- Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
