TPE III / Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

TPE III / Mechanical Engineer position at Wood PLC, located at a project site approximately 150 km from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality mechanical engineering deliverables and conduct technical inspections to support project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures while coordinating effectively across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Deliverables

• Originate new and revise existing engineering deliverables.
• Revise and check engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
• Prepare technical report writing and preparation of presentations.

Project Planning & Execution

• Support planning and completion of work within allocated man-hours effectively.
• Plan work to avoid slippage.
• Manage deliverables submission with required quality checks and proper management of record.

Site & Field Activities

• Conduct site visits and verify site conditions.
• Markup drawings and perform as-built activities.
• Inspect pipes, piping systems, fittings, valves, structural steel, fasteners, and other mechanical materials.

Coordination & Communication

• Support interfaces, coordinate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other team members.
• Coordinate with all disciplines as necessary in the preparation and development of deliverables.
• Ensure that other disciplines input are incorporated.

Technical Assessment

• Conduct technical bid evaluation, vendor document review and subcontract scope management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries.
• Proven experience in mechanical inspection activities.
• Working knowledge of ASME (Sections I, V, VIII, IX), ANSI B31.3/4/8, NACE, API 620/650, and AWS D1.1 standards.
• Full knowledge of Aramco and Sabic standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience using inspection and testing equipment, including Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC requirements, inspection procedures, and industry best practices.
