TOGAF - Enterprise Infrastructure Architect - Banking

Role Overview

Enterprise Infrastructure Architect – Banking, TOGAF specialization, with VAM Systems in Qatar.

Role Purpose

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure architecture aligned with group strategy and banking operations. Ensure seamless data propagation across systems, enforce IT standards, and guide infrastructure teams toward industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance

• Coordinate with the Head of Enterprise Architecture to provide architectural recommendations aligned with the Group's overall strategy and vision.
• Develop and deliver against the organization's strategy and successfully implement Infrastructure Architecture through active engagement delivery and investment programs.
• Ensure that design and development standards are integrated with the Group's governance framework.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to existing standards and policies regarding IT security, internet and VPN security, and Business Continuity Planning and disaster recovery.
• Carry out requirements as directly assigned by the Head of IT Enterprise Architecture in accordance with the overall business plan.

Architecture Design & Standards

• Use industry standard architecture methodologies to successfully implement and grow the Infrastructure Architecture of the bank.
• Design and build an up-to-date Infrastructure Architecture to ensure smooth and seamless propagation of data between systems and subsystems.
• Cover all internal systems as well as their dependence on multiple vendor products and services.
• Propose new enterprise standards based on business need, IT need, and technology advances.
• Assist project teams to implement standards into business applications.
• Employ and enforce IT industry standards such as ITIL.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Perform architecture reviews with infrastructure teams, Internal Risk Management (IRM), and audit teams to ensure adherence to standards and information risk management policies.
• Ensure high standards and security of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Stakeholder & Requirements Management

• Meet with internal managers and project owners to understand and document their requirements prior to providing suitable solutions.
• Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all other related departments, units, and vendors to achieve the Group's goals and objectives.
• Work closely with network and infrastructure teams and project teams to understand their needs and ensure the best enterprise standard is implemented.
• Identify gaps in the Corporate Information and Data Model and address them actively in collaboration with business support teams.

Technology & Innovation

• Maintain a technology watch to identify emerging technologies relevant to the line of business.
• Build awareness of key emerging technologies and promote to the business to address their issues.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Lead the preparation and maintenance of documentation and standards for different activities and systems user guides as per the overall documentation policy.
• Understand user requirements and existing systems to provide proper solutions by enhancing existing systems or providing new systems.
• Initiate regular meetings which aim to add value by discussing progress, problems, and any other issues of concern.

Professional Development

• Identify areas for professional development of self and direct reports and act to enhance professional development of self and others.

Qualifications & Experience

• University graduate in Computer Science or related degree.
• At least 4 years of experience in financial services with specialization in infrastructure architecture, design, and management.
• Specific courses in IT security and Infrastructure Architecture.
