Role Overview
Technician, Mechanical Maintenance at ADNOC, based in Abu Dhabi. The role carries out day-to-day mechanical maintenance, corrective, overhaul and breakdown maintenance activities on all mechanical equipment in the assigned field or area.

Al Reyadah is a critical enabler of ADNOC's 2030 sustainability goals.
Role Purpose
Carry out day-to-day mechanical rotating and static maintenance activities, including corrective, overhaul and breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment in the assigned field or area.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Receive work orders from the Mechanical Engineer and review equipment maintenance history.
- Arrange necessary consumables, spares and tools for maintenance activities.
- Carry out efficiently and safely all assigned maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, breakdown and predictive) as per work order and standard maintenance procedures.
- Carry out new installations, modifications and testing of mechanical equipment through various stages as per plan and in line with Engineer instructions.
- Participate in major overhaul and shutdown maintenance activities as assigned by the Engineer.
- Identify spares, special tools and tackles requirements to execute activities.
Inspection & Troubleshooting
- Obtain necessary work permits and certificates as per maintenance procedures and company HSE regulations.
- Carry out necessary inspections to determine the extent of repair required and prepare inspection, failure and overhaul reports accordingly.
- Monitor the condition of all rotating equipment visually or using relevant devices and systems within the area of responsibility.
- Investigate and troubleshoot equipment and implement fault-finding routine and procedures in consultation with Mechanical Engineers and other disciplines when required.
Records & Documentation
- Update maintenance records for all mechanical equipment as per MAXIMO relevant records.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records, files, drawings, manuals, datasheets and other documentation related to maintenance activities in a well-organized administrative manner.
- Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare section progress reports for Company Management.
- Provide input for the preparation of method statements and initiate near miss reports.
Training & Tool Management
- Provide on-the-job training to meet competency-based training programs for UAE Nationalization.
- Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by the company safely and in working condition.
- Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to accomplish operational objectives.
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Participate in emergency response duties as a team member.
- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.
Time Management & Escalation
- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Mechanical maintenance knowledge covering rotating and static equipment.
- Preventive, corrective, breakdown and predictive maintenance capabilities.
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
- MAXIMO system proficiency.
- Hands-on installation, modification and testing skills.
- HSE compliance and emergency response readiness.
- Technical documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- On-the-job training delivery.
- Ability to work in coordination with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical, Instrument and Control and Operations teams.
