Technician, Maintenance (CNG)

Role Overview

Technician, Maintenance (CNG) at ADNOC. This role is based at CNG and Hydrogen Refuelling stations.

Role Purpose

Execute maintenance service for ADNOC by inspecting, identifying and carrying out preventive, predictive, corrective and emergency repair and maintenance work for all CNG and Hydrogen Refuelling facilities. Contact maintenance contractors for rectifying major problems and preventive maintenance in coordination with CNG Maintenance Supervisor to support equipment integrity and HSE compliance.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance Execution

• Carry out corrective and emergency rectification of electromechanical areas at CNG Packages including CNG compressor, electric motor, electrical switchgear, MCC room, Priority panel, CNG dispenser, Compressor cooling water circuit, PLC and Power Panels, Supervisory Panel (PSSD) and trailer mounted gas systems.
• Attend to complaints from end users and physically visit the site to ascertain the extent of the problem, carrying out corrective or emergency maintenance as required.
• Inspect, monitor and follow-up maintenance contractors to ensure required standard of work is provided and all reported problems are rectified satisfactorily.
• Revisit sites having had problems to inspect and assess work done, ensuring the problem is rectified to standards and preparing a written report for the CNG Maintenance Supervisor.
• Check preventive maintenance reports submitted by maintenance contractors for chiller units in CNG filling stations, determining if any equipment is due for replacement and ensuring required quality service is constantly provided.
• Submit reports to CNG Maintenance Supervisor along with recommendations regarding chiller unit maintenance.
• Check third-party contractors carrying out maintenance jobs for CNG filling stations, undertaking daily rotational checking and inspection of electro-mechanical areas such as chillers.
• Review the maintenance checklist generated by the Contractor as per the monthly schedule service reports.
• Guide maintenance contractors to access various utilities installed in CNG filling stations in accordance with as-built drawings, providing necessary information to perform preventive and breakdown maintenance works.
• Purchase and locally procure small maintenance-related items of urgent nature using petty cash.
• Attend to various complaints at CNG filling stations related to maintenance received through the SAP system for CNG assets.
• Conduct regular routine tests as per the Predictive Maintenance schedule for CNG assets.
• Attend to all assigned breakdowns promptly, carry out necessary repair works and ensure equipment is returned to service as soon as possible while ensuring all safety precautions are taken.
• Ensure safety instructions are rigidly adhered to during all stages of work in hazardous areas, including conducting safety checks.
• Undertake filing duties of completed Preventive, Predictive, Corrective and Emergency Maintenance on a regular basis to maintain updated records.
• Carry out duties of other Maintenance Technicians during their absence or annual leave.
• Attend to end user queries and requests in the Supervisor's absence.

Training

• Provide on-the-job training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Tool and Equipment Management

• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by the company safely and in working condition.
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Time Management

• Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.

Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Housekeeping

• Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

Reporting

• Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
• Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical, or High School graduate.
• 4 years of experience in CNG or Natural Gas Maintenance function in oil and gas industry (for Diploma holders).
• 6 years of experience in CNG or Natural Gas Maintenance function in oil and gas industry (for High School graduates).
