Role Overview

Technician, I-C at ADNOC, performing preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance and testing of plant instrument process monitoring, control and protective equipment.

Role Purpose

Perform preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance, and testing of all plant instrument process monitoring, control and protective equipment in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines to ensure reliable operation of instrumentation systems and plant availability.

Key Responsibilities

Instrument & Control Maintenance

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance work, repair and testing of equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standards to fulfil the requirements of the work request or work order.
• Carry out preventive maintenance activities and participate in assigned plant shutdown activities to ensure timely completion of job activities.
• Verify completed maintenance activities to ensure that the job is performed as per requirement and complete the maintenance activity sheet.
• Trouble shoot, repair, calibrate and test various types of process control instruments and relay logic to keep the instrumentation systems as designed.
• Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on all equipment on site during machine scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns to ensure the availability of all equipment in reliable conditions during running and prevent unforeseen trips.
• Perform field and/or system modifications of control elements and/or control loops as per the plant change requests and assist to update all related plant drawings to reflect the actual changes in line with the management of change procedure.
• Assist in upgrading and retrofitting of new control instruments to the existing panels in the field and main control room as required for completion of modifications and the PCR in line with standards.

Inspection & Problem Identification

• Carry out inspection and exercise vigilance to identify any developing problem in the area assigned and report any problems.

Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Policies, Systems & Procedures

• Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to accomplish operational objectives.

Training & Development

• Provide on-the-job training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Tools & Equipment Management

• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Time Management

• Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.

Housekeeping

• Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.

Reporting & Documentation

• Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
• Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience.
• Professional certifications as applicable.

Skills & Competencies

• Troubleshooting, repair, calibration and testing of process control instruments and relay logic.
• Field and system modifications of control elements and control loops.
• Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and plant change management procedures.
• Ability to complete maintenance activity sheets and technical documentation.
