Role Overview

Technician position with RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, located in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is an onsite role.

Role Purpose

Perform assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing, and disposition of aircraft seating and cabin interior components and accessories to meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly and Disassembly

• Perform major and minor assembly and disassembly of various types of components and accessories installed on premium seating and cabin interiors.
• Perform bonding of upholstery on seating components.

Quality and Inspection

• Perform cleaning, inspection, and testing of components and accessories.
• Determine disposition of components based on inspection results.
• Follow quality procedures and standards.
• Maintain strong focus on attention to detail in meeting customer cosmetic guidelines.

Technical Operations

• Read technical drawings and data to determine the sequence of operations.
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Ensure that work is performed according to appropriate specifications.

Documentation and Reporting

• Complete work packs and documentation accurately.
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates.
• Report conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.

Compliance and Development

• Comply with all rules and regulations of Collins Aerospace, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and Human Resources policies.
• Complete assigned tasks within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives.
• Develop individual skills through assigned work.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in seating required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in related discipline.
• Experience working with upholstery and laminates.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to utilize computer systems including MS Office to input and retrieve information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.

Additional Information

• Position is classified as Onsite; employees work primarily onsite as this includes all production and maintenance employees essential to product development.
• Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
• Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
