Technical Sales Specialist - Clinical Diagnostics

Role Overview

Technical Sales Specialist - Clinical Diagnostics at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is a standard office hours position (40 per week) based in a laboratory setting, office, and various outside weather conditions, with extensive travel across Saudi Arabia required.

Role Purpose

Provide technical support and training for analytical and scientific solutions across multiple technology platforms. Collaborate with sales teams and customers to deliver demonstrations, applications support, and training that enables research and innovation. Serve as a scientific advisor helping customers optimize their workflows and maximize the value of their investments while driving business growth through technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Relationships

• Drive sales growth and identify business opportunities through consultative, solution-based selling.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external customers.
• Conduct customer demonstrations of products and solutions.
• Partner with sales teams to enable customer success.

Technical Support & Training

• Deliver pre- and post-sales technical expertise across multiple technology platforms.
• Conduct product demonstrations and develop new applications.
• Provide comprehensive training for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deliver applications support and troubleshooting for complex issues.
• Optimize customer workflows and maximize value of customer investments.

Quality & Laboratory Standards

• Monitor assay performance and laboratory quality practices.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of QC principles and QC data interpretation.
• Provide troubleshooting support for quality control issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, R&D, and product management.
• Contribute to customer success and business growth initiatives.

Project & Priority Management

• Handle multiple priorities in a results-oriented environment.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables.
• Work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Technology, or a related Life Sciences field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Clinical Diagnostics.
• Hands-on exposure to clinical pathology laboratories, laboratory workflows, and diagnostic testing environments.
• Previous experience as a Technical Sales Specialist, Applications Specialist, Product Specialist, or similar role involving customer training, technical support, product implementation, and troubleshooting.

Skills & Competencies

• Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong presentation and training capabilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant scientific software.
• Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Arabic and English required.
