Technical Contracts Manager (Engines)

Role Purpose

Manage overall technical sourcing, contracting, and vendor management for Etihad Airways Technical. Own procurement and maintenance contracts spanning engines, APUs, and components while ensuring fit-for-purpose processes are established within governance, managing day-to-day sourcing and supplier activities, and leading commercial negotiations to deliver optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

• Lead sourcing, contracting, and vendor management for Technical's portfolio of OPEX and CAPEX contracts with focus on complex, high-value, at-risk contracts including Boeing, Airbus, GE, and Rolls Royce platforms.
• Develop sourcing strategies and execute high-value RFPs and sourcing activities spanning multiple products including engines and components, within DOA and procurement guidelines.
• Negotiate contractual terms, conditions, and disputes with vendors while ensuring alignment with Etihad stakeholders including Legal and Finance to deliver optimal outcomes.

Vendor & Contract Management

• Own preparation and maintenance of Technical's vendor footprint, contract summaries, and supplier risk management processes.
• Lead vendor performance management by scheduling management and executive reviews, preparing vendor summaries and dashboards, and measuring contract performance against SLAs.
• Ensure fit-for-purpose contract administration processes are implemented and maintained within governance.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure all relevant airworthiness regulations, policies, and procedures are followed to support continuing airworthiness (CAMO function) of the airline with safety as the number one priority.

Process Improvement & Operations

• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities leveraging digital tools and solutions.
• Lead other projects and initiatives as directed by line manager and Head of Department.

People Development

• Coach and mentor staff across the department on contract and sourcing management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of job-related experience in airline or aviation.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related qualification.
• Engineering and maintenance focused experience with engines and components contracts.
• Demonstrated experience in vendor and contract management throughout the contract lifecycle.
