Role Purpose

Monitor, organise, and supervise a team of General Assistants in waste recovery and recycling operations. Participate directly in waste collection, sorting, and transportation while maintaining compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental standards, and quality management systems. Ensure effective coordination of team workload, proper documentation of recyclable materials, and smooth daily operations across assigned locations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Assign and deploy General Assistants to designated areas to ensure effective and efficient waste collection.
• Monitor and supervise the GA team, participating directly in collection, sorting, and transportation of waste materials.
• Organise and plan team workload with adequate prioritization, adhering to roster schedules and supporting manpower coordination.
• Oversee assigned locations and areas, monitoring staff and daily operations, and escalating matters as required.

Waste Collection & Recovery Operations

• Participate directly in waste collection, sorting, and transportation to ensure efficient waste recovery.
• Perform and support the sorting, storage, and handover of recovered materials to recycling contractors.
• Maintain signed weight and quantity documentation to ensure accurate tracking and accountability of recyclable waste.

Compliance & Standards

• Maintain compliance with standard procedures for safe equipment operation, monitoring machine performance and identifying deviations.
• Prevent equipment failure and ensure safe, continuous operations.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and environmental compliance across all tasks and collection areas, including the Waste Collection Centre.
• Uphold the Quality Policy and Quality Management System (ISO 9001) across all responsibilities.
• Support ISO 14001:2015 environmental compliance across all responsibilities.
• Protect employee wellbeing and ensure the business meets its regulatory obligations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience at supervisory level in a catering or food production unit, preferably with airline industry background.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Good communication skills.
• Team leader spirit and willingness to work hard.
• Basic knowledge of counting and weights preferred.
