Team Leader, Maintenance (Industrial)

Role Overview

Team Leader, Maintenance (Industrial) at ADNOC. This role leads industrial maintenance operations across ADNOC Distribution Depots, terminals, LPG Plants, tanks, and pipelines in assigned regions.

Role Purpose

Lead the execution of planned and unplanned industrial maintenance activities including preventive, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance across all ADNOC Distribution installations and facilities. Manage and supervise activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and deadline achievement while maintaining compliance with industrial standards for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works in accordance with ADNOC maintenance strategy and HSE standards to ensure reliability, integrity, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning and Management

• Lead execution of all industrial maintenance planned and unplanned activities across all sites to ensure effective and timely completion with optimum cost and resource utilization.
• Direct maintenance engineers and supervisors in respective regions to monitor maintenance performance scorecards, KPIs, and HSE and Asset Integrity and Process Safety (AIPS) KPIs to ensure targets are achieved.
• Ensure compliance and execution of maintenance programs including preventive, corrective, breakdown, and predictive maintenance of HSECES Critical Equipment Systems.
• Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) adherence to all maintenance activities across regions per ADNOC standards and procedures.
• Facilitate AIPS and HSE Assurance program implementation including Leadership Site Visits, WMS Audits, and Contractor Safety compliance.
• Cascade AI ideas and new initiatives with coordination, keeping up with latest technologies to bring value to the organization.
• Ensure effective forecasting of resources including spare parts and manpower to ensure timely availability in accordance with production plans.
• Manage maintenance work orders completion reports and provide guidance to ensure operational standards align with ADNOC Distribution standards.
• Oversee employee fatigue management and wellbeing.
• Ensure timely response to all relevant emergencies and breakdowns with prompt corrective action to ensure service availability and minimize production downtime.
• Manage and direct assigned supervisors and teams in carrying out maintenance work activities across all ADNOC Distribution Industrial locations in assigned regions and provide advice on technical matters related to Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, and Mechanical Systems.
• Manage and liaise with planning team leader to ensure development of Planned Maintenance program and schedule works for depots, terminals, LPG plants, and associated pipelines, vessels, tanks, and loading bays in respective regions.
• Lead team compliance with company codes, regulations, and engineering practices adhered to with high standards.
• Develop and review division procedures and standing instructions for ADNOC Distribution Industrial Maintenance team to ensure adherence to quality and standards.
• Optimize utilization of in-house and third-party resources for maintenance activities.
• Liaise with technical department to approve technical changes for implementation to ensure requirements are met with minimum cost per MOC system.
• Control costs on maintenance activities including maintenance projects.
• Maintain constant interaction with Control & Automation Systems Engineer to ensure proper functioning of all PLC and DCS control systems and effective compliance to SIS and Alarm management KPIs.
• Work with Inspection & Corrosion Teams to check and review corrosion, erosion, failure patterns, and status of Cathodic protection systems and advise on preventive and corrective action.
• Liaise with general maintenance team for support needed on civil and general maintenance works.
• Ensure readiness to immediately respond to all critical and safety-related maintenance concerns.
• Support project team during ongoing project life cycle in workshops such as HAZOP, HAZID, and AMHAZ, and assist with SAT, FAT, and project handovers with snag listing, PAC, and FAC.

Technical Advice, Performance Monitoring, and Improvement

• Provide technical advice to internal customers, particularly Operations and HSE Department, regarding technology selection, equipment selection, asset retirement, major project specification review, accident and incident investigations, repetitive fault analysis, and system improvement.
• Lead development of periodic performance and achievements reports including statistical analysis and identification of continuous improvements with agreed action plans and benchmark maintenance performance to identify areas for improvement and provide solutions.
• Support Industrial Maintenance Department manager in planning, developing, and implementing maintenance methods and procedures designed to reduce downtime, minimize operating costs, and optimize utilization of technicians, materials, and assets.

Contract Management

• Plan, supervise, and control outsourced maintenance contractors to ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications and engineering standards.
• Direct and supervise compilation of detailed work scopes for mechanical, instrument, electrical, and civil works subject to tender enquiries.
• Decide on agency or in-house repairs and lead breakdown maintenance of equipment and assets using third-party or agency resources when in-house capabilities are not adequate.

Inventory Management

• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and critical items necessary for maintenance to ensure all items are available at all times and at adequate levels.
• Arrange purchases through standing offers or existing contracts.
• Manage effective spares management of all maintenance requirements including supply contracts, ordering, receipt, and utilization of materials, and maintain stock levels while ensuring timely replenishment in coordination with Procurement, Purchasing & Material Management team.

New Projects

• Plan and coordinate at team level all major maintenance requirements and projects related to replacement and augmentation assigned to Maintenance division.
• Participate in project reviews including HAZOP, HSEIA, HAZID, and Risk Assessments as required.
• Provide third-party technical and engineering comments on New Project and Modification proposals developed by Engineering and Projects Division and liaise as necessary for precommissioning and commissioning.

Other Responsibilities

• Oversee timely and periodic inspection and calibration of meters and other equipment by third-party agencies and government departments.
• Obtain and maintain formal quality assurance certification such as ISO 9001-2000 for maintenance processes in the Depot in ADNOC Distribution region.
• Process all third-party notice of intents and requests for utility information regarding major Government Projects that could affect ADNOC Distribution interests.
• Keep abreast of changes in relevant standards and improvements in associated technology and maintenance practices.
• Perform other similar or related duties regarding maintenance as assigned by Industrial Maintenance Department Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation.
• 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry in maintenance and operations roles, including 5 years in managerial responsibilities.
