Role Overview

Team Lead, Network & Voice at NTT DATA Limited. Role Purpose

Lead a team of network engineers and specialists in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure while driving collaboration, setting technical standards, mentoring team members, and ensuring delivery of high-quality network solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Foster a positive team culture, encourage professional growth, and promote collaboration.
• Develop people management capabilities with a focus on collaboration and fostering innovation.
• Mentor team members and foster skill development through continuous learning initiatives.
• Lead and manage the network engineering team.

Network Design & Architecture

• Collaborate with the team to design and architect network solutions, including LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud networks.
• Ensure that network designs align with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to team members during the design, configuration, and implementation of network solutions.
• Review and approve network designs and configurations.
• Plan network capacity and scalability to accommodate business growth and evolving needs.

Network Operations & Deployment

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Lead efforts to optimize network performance by analysing traffic patterns, implementing QoS measures, and making configuration adjustments.

Project Management

• Lead network-related projects, establish project plans, allocate resources, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively to ensure smooth project execution and knowledge sharing.
• Manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
• Evaluate vendor offerings and negotiate contracts.

Governance & Security

• Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance processes for network engineering.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security policies.
• Ensure that network solutions meet security requirements by implementing effective security measures, access controls, and monitoring systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certifications are beneficial.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE), or equivalent certifications are preferred.
• Network Administration certification (Azure, Google, Amazon) is preferred.

Professional Experience

• Solid experience in network engineering, including progressive roles in design, implementation, and leadership.
• Solid experience working in a networking environment.
• Solid experience with network security.
• Solid WAN and LAN experience.
• Solid experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design.
• Relevant experience leading and managing a networking or similar engineering team.
• Solid familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.) and network automation concepts is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Solid expertise in networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and services.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing complex network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Knowledge of advanced network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and security protocols.
• Good documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project management, resource allocation, and budget management abilities.
• Good problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
• Ability to manage and lead technical teams.
