Role Purpose

Support classroom learning and pupil development across the curriculum by working with the class teacher to deliver effective instruction, supervision, and pastoral care that enables children to become independent learners and engaged members of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

• Work with groups or individuals to support learning across the curriculum.
• Apply school policies and methods to help pupils, including phonics and math strategies.
• Record pupil activities and assist with administrative tasks, including preparing resources, setting up the classroom, and creating displays.
• Encourage independence by questioning, modeling, and supporting personal organization and hygiene.

Pupil Engagement and Supervision

• Build positive relationships with pupils through meaningful communication, enthusiasm, patience, and respect.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, school trips, transitions, and specialist lessons.
• Manage behavior positively and act as a role model.

Professional Collaboration and Development

• Collaborate closely with the class teacher to ensure effective communication and lesson preparation.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Report concerns about pupils to the class teacher.
• Seek support and training proactively for personal development.
• Remain flexible and contribute actively to the school community.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Certificate.
• 1 year experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• UAE National.

Skills & Competencies

• Develop positive working relationships with all members of the school community, including children, teaching staff, administrative staff, and parents.
• Use initiative, remain flexible, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Support children in all aspects of school life and help them become independent learners.
