Role Purpose

Deliver engaging science lessons and inspire curiosity and scientific thinking in students across relevant year groups. Foster a culture of scientific inquiry within the science department while ensuring curriculum alignment and student progression.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Lesson Planning

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across relevant year groups
• Develop schemes of work aligned with the school's curriculum
• Prepare students for relevant external examinations where applicable

Practical Teaching

• Conduct practical experiments safely and effectively
• Develop and deliver hands-on learning experiences that support scientific understanding

Assessment & Feedback

• Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback
• Monitor and evaluate student learning outcomes

Department & Culture

• Foster a culture of scientific inquiry and curiosity
• Collaborate with the wider science department

Safeguarding

• Uphold safeguarding standards at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching science at school level
• Strong laboratory and practical teaching skills
• Excellent classroom management skills
