Role Overview

Teacher - Primary (Bilingual) at Aldar Education in Abu Dhabi for Academic Year 2026/2027.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the UK curriculum while contributing to a collaborative school community committed to student progress and enrichment.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction

• Develop and implement policies and practices for the department that reflect the school's vision, aims, commitment to high standards of achievement, and effective teaching and learning.
• Ensure appropriate and relevant schemes of work are developed, in place, and regularly reviewed and evaluated for all year groups and courses.
• Ensure schemes of work include suitable provision for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
• Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the department for all students including those of high ability and those with special educational needs.
• Create an effective and stimulating teaching and learning environment in accordance with Learning Environment Policy.

Planning & Development

• Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long term plans for the development of the department.
• Analyse and interpret relevant school data to inform policies and department/school SEF writing.

Student Achievement & Support

• Use data effectively to identify students who are underachieving in the department.
• Implement plans of action to support underachieving students.
• Deploy effective strategies to raise standards and plug gaps in learning to ensure outstanding progress for all.

Teaching Quality & Performance

• Set expectations for staff in relation to standards of achievement and the quality of teaching and learning and behaviour.
• Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning of the department and identify effective practice and areas for improvement.
• Take action to further improve the quality of teaching and learning.
• Performance manage team in accordance with school performance management policy.

Enrichment & Wider Programme

• Ensure the department regularly contributes towards the school's CAS Programme and after school Booster/Revision Sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP courses.
• Demonstrate commitment to an extensive enrichment programme.

Resource Management

• Ensure efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources.
• Maintain efficient and effective control of the Department's Resource and CapEx budgets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
• Experience of the UK curriculum.
