Role Purpose

To deliver outstanding teaching and learning in Computing/ICT across Key Stage 3, GCSE (Computer Science and ICT), and A-level Computer Science, while fostering a climate conducive to exceptional progress for all students, including those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Planning for Teaching and Learning

• Create a climate for learning that is conducive to outstanding practice.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives aligned with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
• Set clear targets that build on prior attainment.
• Identify SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students and ensure their needs are met through differentiation.
• Provide clear structure and planning for lessons and learning activities that maintain pace, challenge, and engagement.
• Make effective use of assessment for learning.
• Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons.
• Make effective use of ICT to enhance learning and progress.

Behaviour and Standards

• Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy.
• Encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring

• Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use findings to improve specific aspects of teaching and learning.
• Mark students' work regularly and set targets for progress in accordance with the school's Marking Policy.
• Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep detailed records.
• Use performance data to inform planning, student learning, and progress.
• Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, department, and school procedures.

Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement

• Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
• Attend and support parent and student events.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as required.

Curriculum Development

• Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.

Additional Duties

• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the SLT.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Computing/Computer Science/ICT teacher in the English Curriculum.
• Experience of working in more than one International School.

Skills & Competencies

• Secure knowledge of teaching the English National Curriculum and GCSE.
• Experience of teaching students for whom English is not their first language.
• Proven track record of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and close learning gaps.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experiences at a variety of levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team.
