Role Purpose

To deliver outstanding early years foundation stage education aligned with the Primary English National Curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment where all students reach above expected expectations through high quality teaching, innovative resource organisation, and strong relationships with students, families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum.
• Organise the classroom, learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the Mamoura British Academy USP.
• Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Provide support and interventions for students with EAL or additional learning needs.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation.
• Evidence children's work and learning in line with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
• Reflect on lessons taught and student progress, adjusting planning, curriculum and continuous provision accordingly.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists as required.
• Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice, participating in school CPD and teaching and learning initiatives.
• Demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision.

Assessment and Data

• Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class of children to ensure they reach above expected expectations.
• Meet the requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development using Learning Ladders.
• Provide regular feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Safeguarding

• Follow the Mamoura British Academy behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to pupils' needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow the school's procedures to manage and challenge any rare occurrences of unwanted behaviour.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils.
• Ensure that any concerns relating to behaviour and safeguarding are accurately followed up on and logged on CPOMS.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
• Support with organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Run a weekly ECA each term to enhance the provision offered to students.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Teaching experience in English National Curriculum.
• Experience of working in more than one International School desirable.
