Role Purpose

Inspire students to design, prototype, and build practical projects by planning and delivering engaging design technology lessons across relevant year groups. Guide students through the design, prototyping, and manufacturing process while maintaining a safe and well-organised workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum Delivery

• Plan and deliver engaging design technology lessons across relevant year groups
• Guide students through the design, prototyping, and manufacturing process
• Prepare students for relevant external examinations where applicable

Workshop Management and Safety

• Ensure safe and effective use of workshop tools and equipment
• Maintain a safe and well-organised design technology workshop
• Uphold safeguarding and health and safety standards at all times

Assessment and Feedback

• Assess student projects and provide constructive feedback

Collaboration

• Collaborate with the wider design and technology department

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching design technology at school level
• Strong practical and workshop safety skills
• Excellent classroom and workshop management skills
