Systems Administrator II - Secret Clearance at V2X, supporting global operations across secure infrastructure environments.

Role Purpose
The Systems Administrator II administers and provides operational support for servers, workstations, and applications in a Windows Active Directory environment. The role coordinates troubleshooting and oversight of system backups, hardware and software installation, and system upgrades while solving complex technology problems and mentoring internal and external customers to enhance day-to-day operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Systems Administration
- Operate and maintain all aspects of server administration including Microsoft 2008 Active Directory, Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), Domain Name System (DNS), Domain Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and print queues.
- Manage Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Conduct daily administration of Exchange servers (2008 or higher) and Outlook Web Access (OWA).
- Use VERITAS Backup Exec to conduct file server backup and restores.
- Maintain systems availability and perform regular maintenance on equipment.
- Perform hardware maintenance and troubleshooting of various vendor server platforms including Dell, HP, LTO tape library, fiber switch, and SANs.
- Maintain antivirus and security requirements in accordance with US Army standards and regulations.
- Provide user and Microsoft Exchange account maintenance as required.
Supervisory & Leadership
- Establish shift schedules.
- Manage work schedules.
- Perform employee appraisals and maintain training records in accordance with the V2X Leadership guide.
- Conduct proper new and returning employee orientation and ensure employees understand and can accomplish all tasks in the Employee Job Certification (EJC).
- Coordinate transportation and integration of new and returning employees.
- Document and promptly counsel poor performance and policy violations.
- Provide annual employee appraisal feedback in a professional and constructive manner.
- Demonstrate V2X values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, and Professionalism.
- Ensure the safety of personnel and conduct monthly safety inspections properly.
- Communicate effectively up and down the chain of command.
- Work with employees and HR when emergencies or abnormal circumstances occur.
- Render all decisions based upon company values and principles of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, and Professionalism.
Compliance & Tracking
- Update proprietary applications regarding employee daily status, leave, sick, and on-site information.
- Verify and track accomplishment of section monthly or quarterly safety and compliance training.
- Purge section employee expired certifications.
- Verify section employee compliance training in Virtual Training Record.
- Verify section vehicle logs are being kept accurately and uploaded.
- Ensure section personnel are maintaining their 8570 and 8140 certifications.
- Review weekly training compliance reports for accomplishment prior to suspense.
- Review and approve leave forms, ensuring all compliance training is current before approval.
- Enforce all V2X, GO 1, and dress code policies.
General Operations
- Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Security Clearance
- Requires an active Secret Clearance.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (IT).
- One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a four-year bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline for three years of general experience.
- One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
Certifications
- Must adhere to DoD 8570.01M.
- Must maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification.
- Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of practical experience working with Windows Server 2012 or higher operating systems and Active Directory tools.
- At least two years of supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
- Required to be an expert in all functions of both IAT Level I and IAT Level II positions relating to a Windows Server operating system environment.
- Must be able to apply extensive knowledge of information assurance field concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of all enclaves (NIPR, SIPR, etc.) systems.
- Must be able to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals for the enclave environment.
- Possess a basic understanding of security principles and their application to an enterprise Active Directory environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work environment is 95% indoors and 5% outdoors.
- Outdoor work environment may exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit; candidate must be able to physically withstand extreme heat.
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (helmet and plated vest) weighing 25 to 40 lbs for extended periods of time.
