Role Overview
Support & Implementation Engineer (Omani Nationals) at ProgressSoft. This position provides high-level onsite and remote IT technical liaison services, managing the full lifecycle of incidents and problems across all levels of technical support and engineering.
Role Purpose
Deliver comprehensive technical implementation and support services to customers across test and production environments, troubleshooting complex multi-layer issues and maintaining systems through preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Installation
- Implement and install solutions on customer test and production environments.
Troubleshooting & Diagnosis
- Work onsite and offsite to troubleshoot and diagnose customer-reported issues across Database, Application, Network, Communication, and Integration Interfaces levels.
Customer Support
- Respond promptly and positively to customer requests and tickets.
Documentation
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of technical documentation.
Maintenance
- Conduct Preventive and Corrective Maintenance visits to customer sites physically or remotely.
General Duties
- Perform any other job-related duties incidental to the work.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science, Computer Application, or related field.
- Fresh graduates or up to 3 years of experience in a related field.
Skills & Competencies
Required Technical Knowledge
- Database engines: Oracle and MS-SQL.
- Operating systems: Linux and MS Windows.
- Application servers: Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, and IBM WebSphere.
- Directory Services: Active Directory and LDAP.
Required Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent team player.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Cloud Computing, Virtualization Technologies, SAN and Storage, Network Infrastructure.
- Data Centers, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, Backup and Recovery Strategies.
- PKI Infrastructure and Certificate Authorities.
- Database engines: PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL Databases.
- Server and client operating systems: Linux Distros and Windows.
- Web application servers: Jetty, Wildfly, JBoss.
- Object Storage management.
- Cloud-based Solution Infrastructure: Amazon, Azure, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean.
- Cloud Infrastructure Tools: OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes.
- DevOps Techniques and Skills including CI/CD.
Additional Information
- Willing to travel abroad and work extra hours whenever needed.
