Supervisor

Role Overview

Shift Supervisor at Apparel Group. This operational position involves the supervision of team member activities on shift to ensure that standards around people, product, cleanliness, and Exceptional Guest Experience are fulfilled.

Role Purpose

To lead and supervise team member activities during shift operations, maintaining standards across people management, hospitality, operations, health and safety, and cashiering to deliver an exceptional guest experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

• Lead by example and demonstrate the importance of treating every team member and guest with respect.
• React immediately to issues requiring attention during the shift.
• Provide ongoing, specific direction to team members.
• Encourage an exciting and fun work environment while motivating team members to meet goals.
• Train, orientate and monitor new team members.
• Report to Store Manager on team member performance, both positive and negative.
• Assist in ensuring optimal team member coverage at all times and work various positions during busy periods to maintain optimal service levels through demonstrated floor leadership.

Hospitality Management

• Lead by example to demonstrate that the guest is top priority and reinforce positive hospitality behaviors with team members.
• Respond to guests in a friendly manner while maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Respond to guest service complaints in a timely manner, resolving problems and turning potentially negative situations into positive situations.

Operations Management

• Comply with and enforce all Tim Hortons operating standards.
• Ensure that all product and packaging is properly merchandised and stocked.
• Manage shift cash procedures.
• Maintain operational efficiency through use of the work schedule.
• Supervise team members to ensure primary and secondary duties are completed.
• Ensure all store policies are followed during the shift, including cash policies, meal and break policies, and food safety policies.
• Keep current on all new information, including new products launched, promos and discount schemes.
• Assist the Store Manager in driving sales and transactions during their shift.
• Complete all required shift documentation, including records of waste, manager walk-throughs, and store checklists.
• Escalate to immediate superior any issues and problems.

Health & Safety

• Know, understand and follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing as required.
• Report all injuries, illness, accidents, unsafe conditions, security incidents and any contravention of health and safety legislation, policies and procedures to the Store Manager or Area Manager.
• Refrain from operating any equipment, machine, device or thing, or otherwise working in a manner that will endanger anyone.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed during the shift, including documentation and reporting of any work-related injuries or accidents.

Cashiering

• Supervise and ensure that technical equipment in the stores are in working condition.
• Count money in the cash till at the beginning of shifts to ensure that the amount is correct and there is adequate change.
• Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits whenever required.
• Issue receipts, refunds, or change to customers correctly whenever required.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
